Default Tables on a D-Train

I see pictures have been posted of the interior of the first
passenger-carrying D-Train. Who expected the interior to be better than the
new Class 700s?

I assume that one is a demonstrator unit, showing how nice things could be,
rather than a unit fitted out at the specification of a TOC (i.e. the DfT),
which would end up cramming seats in with the minimum of comfort or
personal space.

Yes, it's Vivarail's demo prototype, which may or may not reflect what
customer TOCs will choose to do. Hopefully the DfT won't be involved in
specifying the seats and moquette design in the production units…

It could be that an enlightened TOC will deliberately choose an interior
that's as different as possible to the LU crowd-busting design, so as to
disguise their District line origins.
