Default Lewisham Undergound Station?

I was told last night that under the Lewisham Centre is provision for
an underground station built in preparation for the terminus of the
Fleet Line (now the Jubilee and running to Stratford) in the late
1970s. The former childrens play area in the sunken section in the
middle is suposedly the entrance.

I've looked on google and found plenty of references to the Fleet
line's proposed destination of Lewisham (and even some further
extensions beyond that). I also found references to a trial section of
tube tunnel at New Cross which would have been on the alignment. But
nothing of the station at Lewisham.

Is anyone able to shed any light on whether there is any truth in this
rumour?

regards

I didn't know anything had actually been built but at one time it was
intended for the Fleet Line to continue from Strand to Aldwych and then
along the north bank of the Thames to cross over towards New Cross thence to
Lewisham and take over the Mid Kent (Hayes) line. It's possible that on the
time scale of things that, during Lewisham Centre planning, provision was
made and left in during building. It is easier to leave gaps for trains to
pass through than to tunnel through many feet of solid concrete raft!
