Default No waiting in the station

Yesterday I met some friends at Notting Hill Gate and for all the time that
I was waiting there were announcements (in English Spanish and French)
telling me that the area was a "no waiting Zone" and that people waiting for
people should wait outside.

Whilst (I think) I understand the reason for this, how do they possible
think that someone who has arranged to meet inside the station can change
their plans after they arrive at a station with 4 exits? If they want to
implement this they have to advertise it more widely than when you arrive at
the station

Morons!

Fortunately, I can pretend to be Italian or German (though no one approached
me).
