Out-Boundary Travelcard Season Price by
MIG
Does anyone know a site where one can look up prices for seasons from
out of London including travelcard?
The NRE site only offers station to station prices in the season
ticket calculator, and even if you put a London Suburb it just tells
you there's nothing available, rather than offer the travelcard
version (which would normally fit the bill and more).
Calling NRE tends to get variable...

Bus Stops on Diversion by
MIG
I seem to remember discussion here establishing that when there is an
emergency diversion, buses don't stop at the stops on the alternative
route (no matter how much you beg to be let out with your heavy
shopping near home rather than be taken to somewhere there's no way
back from), but that they do stop if there's a planned diversion.
This doesn't seem to be the case with buses diverted from...

NR Tickets from LU touchscreen Ticket machines by
ts2000uk@hotmail.com
I have noticed that you can purchase a ticket from my local LU station
in Zone 5 to Peterborough, a single is about £19.?? quid.
What type of ticket is this? Is it printed on a NR ticket or an LU
ticket?
Also can it be used on FCC or NXEC?
when will LU implement joint up thinking as it is such a paid buying
my £4.80 t/c from the ticket office.

Abbey Road's changed a lot by
John Rowland
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article1561744.ece
The Sun says it's changed a lot in 39 years... well, it seems to have become
a red route in the last 14 hours! Does anyone recognise where the picture
was really taken? The paper edition says within 200 yards of the original
zebra crossing, but the nearest red route is about 350 yards away.

Ventilation Victoria Line by
Edward Cowling London UK
After another grim morning on Friday, I wonder why the ventilation on
the Victoria Line is so bad ? If you change to the Piccadilly at
Finsbury Park it's like entering a different world. So if the Picc Line
can stay reasonably fresh why can't the Vic Line ? Even with the
trains at full hurtle little air seems to move about the carriage.

What's up with the 243 bus? by
David F
Recently I've noticed the 243 bus whizzing along Southgate Road every
now and then... normally the 21, 141 and 76 are the only buses to be
found (unles you count the 812, which I am told passes by - but never
seen it).
This morning I decided to hop on as one came along as I was waiting
for the 76 to take me to work.
Quite a few people were surprised when it turned right at the Old...

Grit in the Oyster by
Boltar
Oh dear , some toys being chucked out of prams over at TfL HQ. Seems
poor old Peter Hendy was in a rage about the recent failures (read:
loss of revenue). Oh dear Peter , well now you know what its like for
Oyster to screw you out of your money through no fault of your own.
Suck it up mate.

01:40 from Queens Park by
Paul Weaver
Wish me luck, I'm a bit to late to get to Euston for 01:34, but I'm
hoping to meet it here. I'm sat on the platform of the Relief
"down" (Northbound) at Queens Park railway station -- the track-
bashing guys in the ticket hall tell me the train doesn't always stop
here, but I've got the Thursday night 00:34 and 01:34 dozens of times,
and they always stop at QP.
If it doesn't, I'm up for a...

Fares on the DLR vs tube by
mstampfer@axonconsulting.com
I'm travelling daily from Hampstead Heath on the London Overground to
Canary Wharf over Stratford thus in zones 1 and 2 only. The oyster
PAYG fare is normally £1 since it covers zones 2+3 only.
I noticed that when I change to the DLR at Stratford I am charged £1
for the journey but when I change to the Jubilee line at Stratford I
am charged £2 for the journey.
Why is the Jubilee line charging...

Photos/details of Heathrow Junction station by
Mr Thant
For a short period in 1998 before the Heathrow Express tunnels opened,
trains started running to a temporary station called Heathrow Junction
somewhere near the tunnel mouth. Does anyone have any details about
exactly where it was and what it amounted to, or even photos of it?
Thanks,
U

Ambulances by
John Rowland
A slip road with "No entry" signs on both ends has been created in W2 to
allow emergency vehicles to get from Westbourne Terrace Road to Westbourne
Terrace. How do drivers of emergency vehicles find out about the
infrastructure which is there for them? Are new ambulance drivers given a
graffitied A-Z, or a modified satnav, or just a list?
