No L at Central by John Shelley
I don't recall having seen this mentioned before, but if it has been I apologise for repetition. Travelling with my cousin through Wembley Central on a Bakerloo train over the weekend he noticed that one of the new large Overground roundels on the southbound platform announced the location as Wembey Central. All the rest appeared to be OK. --

Victoria Line early closures by martin
I hadn't noticed any publicity until this evening, but there are now yellow stickers on the line diagrams in trains announcing more early closures on the Victoria Line. It seems to be the same timings as last autumn's closure, and will be on Mondays to Thursdays from 4th February until "late November". Full details can be found at http://preview.tinyurl.com/yu885v

16/01/2008 - London Lite by No Name
I dont normally read the London Lite but an article caught my eye. There was on an article on the average house prices around each station. The houses had to be within half a mile of the station. Apperently Hatton Cross has the cheapest house prices. I forget which station has the most expensive. It would be nice to see the full list of stations and their house prices rather than the limited...

DB buying Chiltern - Implications for rail users ? by Paul Scott
Jack Taylor wrote: Chris wrote: Agreed - however, the new owners face a problem, in that the 165s & 168s are no longer made, so they'll struggle to increase stock levels any further, without moving away to other typesof rolling stock. North London Line AC/DC question by Boltar
Why do the trains on the NLL switch over to 25Kv AC at Hackney Wick and then switch back to DC at Dalston when the 3rd rail is continuous along that section anyway? Why not just stay on DC and save the wear and tear on the pantograph? B2003

Eddie Izzard at the Bank by Offramp
I am pretty sure there is a standard station announcement at Bank done by Eddie Izzard. I heard it on the Northern Line platform. There used to be one at Hammersmith by Arthur Smith.

Three Colts by John Rowland
I have found Three Colts Bridge in Victoria Park Three Colt Street in Limehouse Three Colts Lane in Bethnal Green. I have not come across any Three Colt references in any other part of London (although this here interweb says that there is a Three Colts pub in Buckhurst Hill). Does anyone know why Three Colts are so common in the East End?

Farringdon Underground toilets closed by Walter Briscoe
I stopped at Farringdon, this morning, to use the toilets just inside the gateline above the steps to Platform 4 - the westbound BedPan platform. I found my access blocked by a gate - it seems there is no BedPan service, today. The toilets have a notice reporting they will be out of order until further notice. The helpful gateline CSA told me they had been out of order for a couple of...
