Route 303 by
News_Demon
Is this route changing over to double deckers on a full time basis?
It seems that Arriva have been running a few double deckers on this route
for the last couple of months.
I hope they are as this route seems to be getting more and more crowded.

Revenue Protection Inspectors by
traveller
I boarded a London Bus with an Oyster Card that had insufficient credit for the journey. I had used it twice previously during the day and was unaware that the credit was running low.
However the Revenue Inspector simply asked to see the card, told me that there was insufficient credit and asked for my details. She did not confiscate the card, issue an intention to prosecute notice, or even a...

Harringay Station Question by
Ian Jelf
Can anyone tell be the year in which Harringay (formerly Harringay West)
station opened?
Google and Wikipedia and all my London books seem unable to give me a
date (though I seem to have become an expert on unwanted data about
Harringay East/Stadium/East/Green Lanes in the process!
Thanks in advance

Time limit for Oyster PayG journey by
XmaX
Hi, I recently heard that from the moment of touching in, I have 2
hours to touch out, otherwise I will pay the penalty for not touching
out. Is that true?
If it is, then it adds a nice feature to travelling to DLR and other
stations without the barriers. I can just go to Canary Wharf shopping
centre, buy some stuff, and go back, paying just 1 quid (i live in
Z2). Is there anything that can go...

SWT Vs Southern ticket machines.. by
Mystery Flyer
I guess I'm too naive to expect better but riddle me this:-
I live near Bookham. Which gives me the choice of Bookham (SWT) or
Leatherhead (Southern). It depends what time of day and where I am which
I use.
How come then that the ticket machines are so different..
Bookham to Richmond - Not Via London, £11.10
Leatherhead to Richmond - Not Via London £11.10

Have Oyster cards been hacked yet? by
Boltar
I'm not sure how hard or not it would be to do. I'm presuming it uses
some form of encryption though given any reader can show you how much
you have left and where you've been then theres either some basic
system wide common key encryption going on or none at all which makes
me wonder how easy it would be to extract the details if you had a
suitable reader yourself or even up the amount of cash...

ELL extension - Hoxton/Haggerstown. by
David F
Gents,
I live relatively close to the new planned Hoxton & Haggerstown
stations on the ELL (or is it ELR, now?).
I was wondering if there would be any new bus routes planned to
augment the trains?
I've searched everywhere I could think of, but no luck. It seems to be
easy to find changes to rail lines as it's all very high profile - but

Brondesbury Fox by
Edward Cowling London UK
I had a bit of a twilight zone moment at Brondesbury Park station on the
DrossLink North London line Monday night..
It was about 5:30 and about 5 or 6 of us were waiting for the train to
Stratford, when a large grey Fox came up the tracks. I heard the woman
at the end of the platform gasp as the fox headed up the ramp and along
the platform. It just walked along giving us the once over,...

Oystercard at Sloane Square Question by
Ian Jelf
At Sloane Square yesterday (presumably due to the increased traffic for
the Chelsea Flower Show) announcements and staff were telling Oystercard
users not to bother touching out and that their fare would be correctly
debited.
How could that work, without giving an unresolved journey and presumably
messing up any daily caps?
As it happens, I wasn't using mine yesterday (left jacket and...

Don't have coffee before riding the L.A. Metro Gold Line. by
Roland Perry
In message , at 21:43:59 on
Sat, 19 May 2007, Stephen Sprunk remarked:
"Toilet" here refers to the device itself,
Same in UK.
not the room it's located in,
Dual use in the UK. Although often used in the plural as in "where are
the toilets" - eg "where is the room with the toilets in".

Termnal 5 by
Hugh Jarse
I was greeted by a load of London Transport staff at Heathrow 123 station
this morning, telling me there was no Piccadilly Line service. I asked why?
and was told that the train drivers were walking the new tunnels to T5!
Surely this would not affect the H123 to Cockfosters service?

So it's sort of functionally one station, but split into two because of

I suspect that London has the odd example of the exact opposite?
(Functionally two stations, but both identically named despite
affording less than ideal interchange facilities.)
