Gold card discounts on Oyster PAYG - coming soon. by
martin
From last week's Mayor's Question Time:
http://mqt.london.gov.uk/mqt/public/question.do?id=30225
Question by Caroline Pidgeon
Why is it not possible at present to get Gold Card or Network Railcard
benefits in conjunction with Oyster PAYG? How many people would
benefit from this? Do you have any plans to introduce this?

Taxi insurance for multiple people? by
Tom Anderson
Afternoon all,
Here is a story which my housemate just told me.
He arrived at Heathrow by aeroplane at 2230 last night (friday). He'd
previously booked a minicab (from Network Cars of Crouch End, for the
benefit of anyone googling that firm in future) to pick him up and bring
him home to Finsbury Park. He'd been quoted a price of 40 pounds.
(Why he didn't just get the Piccadilly line, i...

Evening parking on Edgware branch by
Sam Holloway[_2_]
Hi all,
I'm going to a gig at the Camden Roundhouse tomorrow evening and,
ideally, would like to park somewhere further up the Edgware branch of
the Northern Line. Somewhere around Hendon Central would be good, as
I'll be coming down the A1.
I've checked on the TfL website and the car parks aren't big (or are
non-existent) for that area. I know you can park (for free!) at Brent
Cross shopping...

Ealing Broadway to Wandsworth Road by
Offramp
Does anyone know if the rail replacement bus still runs twice a week
on the Ealing Broadway to Wandsworth Road route? I think I read that
rail services were going to continue from December 2009.

Shoreditch) to decorate it... I know a few who would relish the

Intercity seat reservation only - is it possible at E. Croydon? by
Hobbyist
I recently bought an Intercity open return ticket via the Southern
rail website. The outward journey is on 23rd May, 10am, Kings Cross to
Newcastle. I also asked for seat reservations. The website said an
outward one only was available and asked whether I wanted "facing"
etc., etc.
When the tickets arrived in the post, there was nothing for the
reservation. When I emailed, they said there...

DLR + NR Question by
AJM
I will be flying into London City Airport in a few weeks and was planning to
go (London City Airport - Woolwich Arsenal via DLR) to (London Bridge via
NR). I'm sure that there are other ways, but the question is; If I touch in
at LC Airport, travel to Woolwich A, do I need to touch out at WA, or can I
transfer to NR there and just touch out at London Bridge making it one
journey from City...

Oyster a real time waster by
Clive Page[_4_]
Yesterday I tried using my Oyster card on National Rail for the first
time. In just 2 NR journeys and 2 tube trips I got at least two
problems. The first unresolved journey (ticket barrier at London Bridge
NR at fault, apparently) I managed to get sorted out at South Kensington
ticket office by merely queuing for 10 minutes, first refund £4.
When finishing the day at King's Cross my...

Rather interestingly, the poor management being criticised here is not
that of Metronet (though that seems a given, considering it
collapsed), nor that of LUL/TfL, but that of the DfT... here's an
excerpt of the...

Is London Overground part of National Rail by
Roy Badami
Subject says it all. Is London Overground part of the National Rail,
network, or not?
The observation that triggered the question was seeing, on one of the
maps on board a tube train, a station showing an interchange opportunity
with London Overground, but *not* showing the National Rail symbol
against the station name. Which would seem to imply not.

I'm on a "via Victoria" (anticlockwise) circle train that started from
Edgware road on platform 2, which necessitated crossing from the other
island where the westbound Hammersmith train (albeit a Metropolitan) had
arrived at platform 4.
To achieve a cross-platform change I would have had to wait until a
District Line train reversed in platform 3 (there was none present at
the time). And...

Long DLR Train by
MIG
This morning I've seen a three-unit train running on the DLR, with the
designation "Special", in between other services.
(Am I the only one having trouble perceiving the "articulated
vehicles" as anything other than units of two coaches?)
Presumably it is some kind of test run. The one I saw was made up of
the new units.

How much of this still exists in some form? I believe the 405 to
Redhill and the 409 to East Grinstead as they are now were once part
of it, but what else is there?
