Oyster Question (yes, another one!) by
Ian Jelf
I took a trip on a 38 from Piccadilly to Victoria yesterday afternoon.
Unusually, the conductor worked like a Trojan during the trip, checking
fares, calling out stops (with a lot of additional information, too) as
well as warnings. It was a pleasure to see.
My query, though, concerns Oyster.
I paid by Oyster Prepay and at Victoria I left the bus and went straight
into the Underground...

Most liveries on a single TOC by
Bonzo
I reckon One must be hard to beat. They have:
317/1 - bluey-purple (and are there still any LTS-liveried ones?)
317/6 - Cream/Red/Brown/Blue and One new livery
317/7 - Stansted Express (with most, but not all, units having the
composite coach painted up for a financial services company); One new
livery
315 - fGE; Intalink; Crimestoppers/BTP; family railcard; dirty grey
undercoat
321 - fGE

A Little Trouble with my Oyster... by
Helen Deborah Vecht
I have an Annual Bus Pass which is due to expire soon, with a small
amount of PrePay for my casual Underground use. I also had an Incomplete
Journey, which 4 trips to Underground ticket offices failed to resolve,
so I had my Oyster Card replaced as 'Failed' yesterday.
There is also an intriguing problem with the PrePay on both the old and
the new cards:-
I am being charged SFP (£0.00) for my...

KEN LIVINGSTONE: RACIST by
WHO'S YER DADDY?!!
I'm loving this one: the sallow, onion-faced c*nt's drunk on power, not to
mention white wine when this happened:

Clapham Junction by
Vernon
Heard a report on LBC last night that Clapham Junction got closed due to a
lighting failure on the platforms - then nothing more.
Was it just a brief incident not worthy of anything else, or did they just
get it wrong?

[OT] 4x4 cars on London streets by

Future of CDRs and NR season tickets in TfL zones? by
Rich Mallard
In another thread buried deep in uk.transport.london, someone says:
...
It is stated in the TfL Board agenda papers for 9/2/05 that the DfT have
decreed that TfL zonal fares will apply to all NR journeys within the
zonal area by 2007. Implementation will be on a TOC by TOC basis
between now and 2007. Pre-pay will be part of the roll out of this
policy.

Commuting time map by
Richard Dixon
Dear All
I hope I've come to the right place to ask this question.
I was commenting with a colleague recently how she (living in Sevenoaks)
takes a similar amount of time as me (in Raynes Park) to get into work
(we're based in Monument).
It made me wonder if anyone has re-designed a London travel map in terms of
time frame of reference - i.e. shortest time taken to get to a major London

I've been having a look at the National Fares Manual after someone

SET 376 - A big disappointment by
Rich Mallard
Having had several journeys to and from work on these, I wonder if anyone
else agrees with my observations:
- These trains have some of the most uncomfortable seating I have ever
experienced, certainly the worst of any London-area commuter train. There
is virtually no padding in the seat whatsoever, and the back itself is
curiously upright and somewhat oddly shaped - as if the lumbar...

Oyster Prepay capping publicity by
Dave Arquati
There's plenty of this at Tube stations now. I picked up two leaflets,
one about capping itself and another about Oyster in general. One point
of interest was that in reference to fares between stations in zones
2-6, "some journeys have been defined as requiring travel via Zone 1 and
will be charged and capped accordingly, irrespective of the actual route
taken".
I wonder what journeys...

Engineering work ticket validity by
Dave Arquati
There's a real onslaught of engineering work this weekend - Jubilee
Kingsbury to Waterloo, Met Harrow to Aldgate, DLR Westferry/Poplar to
Mudchute, northbound Northern Bank branch, High St Kensington on Sunday
morning.
Some of these disruptions say valid tickets will be accepted on local
bus services - good. However, that puts Prepay users at somewhat of a
disadvantage as unless some...

Strange TOC name on WAGN Moortgate service this morning. by
Boltar
Walked up from northern line this morning past the WAGN platforms
and saw a train painted in the colours of a TOC I've never heard
of before. Inta-something , forget the last part. Had a puce green
and yellow colour scheme (though had WAGN diagrams on the inside).
Anyone know where this train may have ventured from?

Recycling bus number-plates by
Mrs Redboots
I was coming home earlier this evening on a 109, which drew up into a
stop behind a no 50. I was in the front upstairs, and so noticed the
number-plate on the 50, which was "WLT xxx" (can't remember the
numbers). I assume they are recycling numbers from the old
Routemasters?

Pics of Stratford LUL Depot by

Hi,
I've finally got round to putting a few of my pics on the Internet.
There's not many online at the moment (I know it's nowhere near as
extensive as the photo galleries some of you have!), but there's a few
of inside Stratford LUL depot that might interest you at:
http://www.michaelpead.co.uk/c361326_49.html (and an interesting shot of
White City station!).
There's also a few other...
