Another Tube Derailment by
Joe
From Tube Site:
Service Disruption on the Northern Line -Bank Branch-
The Northern Line (Bank Branch) has no service between Euston Station and
East Finchley Station in both directions.
This will affect journeys from 11:26 on 19/10/03 until further notice.
This is due to a derailed train at Camden Town Station.
London Buses are accepting ticket holders via any reasonable route.

Visiting All Tube Stations by
Jonathan Osborne
I've been fascinated with the Underground since my first visit to
London in November 2001.
I want to visit every single station. How long do you think it would
take? I want to get at least one exterior picture, and one interior.
I figure I could do maybe 15 stations an hour if I was really pushing
it; but 10 is probably more practical.
Anyone here have any experience with this? Where would...

Travelcards failing (Oyster related) by
Nicholas F Hodder
My wife and I always buy our odd-period Travelcards from central London
National Rail stations because of the full acceptance of credit cards and
more recently the 5% discount, although we use them mostly to travel on the
Tube.
Both of us have encountered our Travelcards failing recently in Tube
barriers, and when we have taken the Travelcards back to the National Rail
station of purchase, we...

Ongar, et al by
Jonathan Osborne
Sometime between 1990 and 94, the few stations past Epping seem to have been
eliminated. Does anyone know what rail services these places have now? Do
they have a tube connection at all? West to east, they were North Weald,
Blake Hall, Ongar. Blake Hall was gone by 1985, and the other two were gone
by 94.
Anyone have pictures of these stations or any information? Also, any
pictures of the...

Shepherd's Bush on the Central Line - another platform? by
Gerard McGovern
For the first time ever I entered the Central Line at Shepherd's Bush. Just
before I went down the last set of stairs to the platform, I saw a closed
exit and what looked like a tunnel going across a set of tracks.
As I got down to the eastbound platform, I could see thru the metal grating
what looked like another platform/tunnel but about 6/ feet higher than the
platform I was on. Could see...

Oyster card data by
j
Hi,
Does anyone know what kind of, or how/if data is logged for use of Oyster
cards? is the system used kind of like the "airmiles points" thing, where my
data is analysed and them I'm sent loads of junk mail / telemarketing?
thanks for any help,
John.

Is it possible to use an oystercard originally used with an adult
photocard to buy student tickets with a student photocard?

Jubilee line screwup by
Boltar
How can a signal failure on the jubilee line cause so much chaos?? If its
affecting the ATO why can't they just drive the trains manually through the
affected section? Or has more than just a signal gone wrong and they don't
want to tell us?
Plus it would have been nice if LU had listened to what people were saying
about using Charing X as a backup terminus instead of just closing the
jubilee...

Routeing advice by
J. Public
Hi All,
I work out at Stockley Park (just north of the Heathrow Spur Road), and live
near Swiss Cottage, and still haven't really worked out the best way home in
the evening... perhaps if there's anyone out there with some top tips, they
could share them with me!
My options are really:
- M4 in to Chiswick, then wriggle through London
- A40 in to Paddington, Maida Vale, Swiss Cottage

Green Park layout by
Sam Holloway
Hi all,
Roughly how much walking is involved in changing between the three
lines at Green Park (Piccadilly/Jubilee/Victoria)? John Rowland's
website shows a diagram of the station
(http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/7069/ltgreenpk.gif) which
predates the Jubilee line. That seems to indicate that the Picc-Vic
interchange is quite a hike, but where does the Jubilee fit into
things?

Reprogramability of ticketing etc. by
Alan \(in Brussels\)
During a short break in London last weekend, I bought a day return ticket
from KXSP Thameslink to Gravesend (intending to change at London Bridge).
Only then did I discover that Thameslink services are not currently running
between Blackfriars and Kentish Town on weekends to permit work on the new
station under Midland Way. Although this situation, in which Thameslink
passengers concerned are...
