Arriva Trains Northern by CJG Now Thankfully Living In The North
Sunday night. Trying to get to Leeds and back again. 40 minuite round trip. Various cancelliations. Delays. Lack of staff. No drivers. Turned it into 5 hour matathron. With no staff knowing what was going on or what to do. The only good thing is that the staff sent half the passengers on the train I finally got home to the wrong platform for a train that didn't exisit. So I actually got a seat...

Liverpool St Circle dot-matrix indicators by Steve
Why are these consistently wrong on the westbound Met platform? I am aware of the difficulties due to the operating pattern from Aldgate/Aldgate East, but they never used to be wrong with the old system. Now, it seems they are never right particularly during the morning rush. -- Steve -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GCM/B$ d++(-) s+:+ a+ C++ UL++ L+ P+ W++ N+++ K w--- O V

Metro Maps of the World by Paul Corfield
Just a short note to say that a splendid new book has been published outlining the history of the maps used to portray the oldest Metro systems plus examples of maps deployed by many other Metros around the world. It's a "coffee table" type book costing £25 - on sale at the LT Museum Shop and possibly elsewhere. http://www.metroplanet.de/metromaps/metro-maps-of-the-world.htm -- Paul C

Looking To Get In Touch With Karl Petersen by Scott McGregor
Greetings. Years ago, I was online friends with a man by the name of Karl Petersen who ran a small software company in London. I've lost contact with him over the years and I would like to get in touch with him to discuss potential business opportunities. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any listing for him, though I know he lives in Brent. I know this is a longshot, but is...

tourist question re walking in London by clio22
Hi, I'll be visiting London for the first time and, as such, can't gauge what's walkable. This will determine whether I need to pick up 7-day Travel Cards or just work with day offpeaks. I'm a decent walker, but not ready for primetime marathon walking. I'll be staying in Victoria Station. So far it doesn't look like I'll be sightseeing out of Zone 1 except for several sidetrips that wouldn't...

Tube question by geco4u
Hello, I'm going to book my hotel in London-Barking area (served by "Hammersmith&City" and "District" lines). Are these tube lines operating even on Saturday (late) night and Sunday (early) morning? What time is the last train on Sat-night at Victoria heading to Barking? And the first train on Sun-morning for the inverse route?
