Canary Wharf Group to design and build Isle of Dogs station by
Andrew Heenan
Canary Wharf Group contributes £150m to Crossrail and will design and build
Isle of Dogs station
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/newscentre/10895.aspx
A sum of £350m of the station's £500m costs will be met from Crossrail's
£15.9bn budget with Canary Wharf Group (CWG) bearing the risk in relation
to costs above the fixed price limit. With final planning approval received

LT Goldcard by
philip
For the first time I am going to buy an annual season on Jan 1st to beat the
fare increase. I just need a Zone 1 and 2 travelcard in London which I
should really pick up from LU at my local station, Canada Water. I believe
that qualifies me for a Gold Card with all the usual perks.
However, before I invest this not inconsiderable sum of money, I was
wondering that if I bought an Oyster...

Circle line information at Paddington by
jamessan@hotmail.co.uk
This is a bit of a rant but I thought it was worth to mention anyway.
At Paddington for the Circle line when you are going towards South
Kensington / Victoria you never get more than 1 minutes notice as to
when the next train arrives. The reason for this is that until the
train reaches Edgware Road the very old signalling describer system
cannot tell the information board when the next train...

district line closing time by
Larry
Hi,
what time does the district line close?? I'm planning to visit London
to attend a football match on late February and I was told to get off at
fulham broadway to get to the Chelsea's stadium. The thing is, I'd like
to get the train back to my hotel when the match is over (10pm?) in
order not to bump up into "strange" ppl asking for trouble...
thanks ever so much

Windows Live Local by
John Rowland
I complained before that they had slightly broken the route planning....
well now they have completely broken it! The map shows a blue line which
wanders from start to finish without particularly matching any roads.... and
whereas the itinerary used to list road names (with a fair number of
errors), now it gives
Turn LEFT (West) onto Local road(s) 0.6 mi
Turn RIGHT (North) onto Local road(s)...

Nunhead station by
Patrick Osborne
Nunhead station only has one entry/exit point, on Gibbon Road.
However, when getting off at Nunhead yesterday, I noticed that there
seems to be another, blocked, entry/exit point at the western end of
the platform, which presumably exited onto Evelina Road. Just
wondered (a) was there ever a second entrance; (b) if so, did it come
out on to Evelina Road; (c) when was it shut; (d) why was it...

The explanation for the Southeastern ticket office being able to sell
Oyster products (which is a much more recent innovation) is surely the
simple one of demand. Southeastern were willing to do so (and earn the
resultant commission), and the DLR and...

New platform advertising panels by
Stuart
I've noticed these being put up at Wood Green and Finsbury Park over the
last week - they're big grey metal panels which seem to be having a
white layer put on top
Are these for moving projected adverts?

Touching in on route 18 by
Matthew Dickinson
I've noticed that on the sides of the bendys on route 18, the stickers
telling PAYG users to touch in have had the stickers that are usually
on the assault screens placed over them.
This would imply that all Oystercard users on route 18 have to touch
in.
Does anyone know if this is in fact the case?

Targetted mailings from TfL? by
Tristan Miller
Greetings.
Today I received the following e-mail from TfL. I was wondering if
everyone on their mailing list got this message, or if they sent it only
to those people whose Oyster card data shows regular trips to Stratford.
Does anyone know if TfL uses Oyster travel data to target its mailings in
this manner?
Regards,
Tristan

District - track renewals by
Paul Scott
Had a view of the District Line track replacement works between Barking and
Upminster yeaterday, from a passing c2c service. I was wondering what short
of length they can do in a weekend, and if the renewed track is basically
done to the same standards as NR use, eg sleeper spacing, ballast depth etc.
I noticed the same orange tubing guarding cables in the four foot for
instance.
If...

Stratford platform changes by
Walter Briscoe
I've just had an email referring to plans to move the Stratford London
Overground platforms from 2009/01/02.
I phoned the number given in that leaflet to ask what was planned for
the current platforms. It seems they will be used for a DLR extension.
The person who answered was not able to answer my next question: will
the Main Ticket Hall and the Jubilee Line Concourse be joined on the...

TfL Fraud?! by

Had a call from Barclays fraud department yesterday "Have you used
your card in the last few minutes?" "No".
Turns out that Barclays had highlighted my Oyster auto-renew as
potential fraud. A quick check on my email and I saw the fail to
collect money email.
You'd have thought they'd have known who it was .. although I think
TfL were using "Autoload" as the name on the transaction. Would...
