Hi, can someone confirm something for me.
Is a boundary zone X to colchester off peak ticket valid during the
evening peak period on NXEA?
No according to Advantix traveller
It has previously been suggested here that a BZ ticket is not really a
ticket in its own right, but is an extension/excess of another ticket. So

Streetlamps in Camden Town by
John Rowland
There are some streetlamps at the end of Camden Road which consist of a pole
with a horizontal arm on top. The long end of the arm holds the main lamp:
the short end pointing the other way has a faint blue light on it. What's
that about?

Oyster PAYG by
Stuart Johnson
Living in Scotland I come south only a few times a year.
When I do I usually buy ODTCs It is not unknown for me to enter a LU
station, perhaps to a have a look round, or maybe I change my mind and
decide to use a different route, perhaps a bus, or maybe it's just
because the service is screwed up, so I exit again without having
travelled. In these circumstances if the ODTC does not allow...

Engineering work on the Met by
John Rowland
According to
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/livetravelnews/realtime/tube/track-closures.pdf
, the Met will be closed on 18-19 July from "Harrow-on-the-Hill to
Croxley/Rickmansworth". Does this mean a shuttle train will run between
Watford and Croxley?

Can't the tube just go one day without some major fsckup? by
boltar2003@yahoo.co.uk
So my wife has got stuck because of the victoria line being down. Just
how many "signal" failures per day are there? Would it not be possible
to design something which doesn't fail quite so damn often and also
design procedures so reversing trains doesn't take forever so at least
the rest of the line can continue running some semblance of a service?

iBus fitted buses without displays? by
rupert.candy@googlemail.com
I've noticed several types of buses which have had the 'business end'
of iBus fitted, and make the correct announcements (and have that
little blue and yellow sticker in the windscreen), but have no
interior LED displays - the long Darts on my local route 227 are one
example, and the Citaro artics on the 436 are another. I wonder
whether a) these types fall into the 'too difficult' category...

Jubilee ATO by
Joe[_2_]
This talk about Thameslink ATO got me thinking - the Jubilee line was
closed over the festive season - was this something to do with ATO.
If so, does that mean ATO is now up-and-running on the Jubilee? If so,
then have there been any noticeable improvement in speeeds - I always
seem to remember trains crawling into stations - particularly those with
Platform Edge Doors - and there always...

Piccadilly line signal failure by
boltar2003@yahoo.co.uk
Seems that theres been a failure this morning between T123 and T5
according to the traffic news. Can't even virtually brand new signals
work without failing on this system? Whats the reason, cheap
components, poor maintenance, bad design?

One-day Travelcard not allowed to be issued more than a week in advance? by
Paul Speller
For the past year or so I have been getting Travel Warrants from work to
exchange for One-Day Travelcards (zones 1-6) for my travel into London
from the suburbs for work matters.
For most of the year I knew the dates I'd be travelling well in advance
so would typically get warrants for all the dates for a whole month
(about seven dates, usually), then take them to my local station and
exchange...

Hayes line service in the last couple of weeks by
Patrick Osborne
Since June last year I've been commuting in to work from Ladywell to
Charing Cross each morning. Up until recently, the service was
ideal. Almost never late, the odd cancellation but generally no
problems.
However, in the last couple of weeks, since the big snow, the service
on this line seems to have collapsed. Almost every morning there has
been a cancelled train, or short stock, or long...

Because of some issues with my bicycle I decided to come to my mother's in

I got to St James's Park just after 19:00 (where I was a bit surprised and

The exact gate and time the suspect used a Freedom Pass was noted,
narrowing the pool down to a small number of possible holders. British
Transport Police could then pnpoint a single card, and therefore the
