Euston Station Underground upgrade a joke. by winstainforth@gmail.com
I was really pleased to see the removal of the bland, uninteresting, boring late 60's tiling, and was looking forward to walking through a station that doesn't cause clinical depression. So was great to see the new tiling was identical to the old, nice one tubelines. Would it really have been so hard to make the station look just a little bit modern.

Why is Wembley Central Such a Dump by Zen83237
Due to Friday's now regular ASLEF strike I have been using the Southern train from Watford to West Brompton but on Friday decided to try Bakerloo to Wembley then the Southern train. Why is Wembley Central such a **** hole. Firstly you have to exit the Bakerloo/Metro platforms through the barriers then take the public route to other platforms which are locked out of use until a few minutes...

London Overground Ticketing - t&c's by Paul G
Don't know if this has been mentioned but the terms and conditions of travel has been published under the rather misleading title of "London Overground Ticketing and Travel Guide". I was particularly looking for fares information (it doesn't contain direct costings information, except explaining which tickets types are...

North London Line information by Robin[_2_]
Anyone have a link to travel information about the N London Line please? Silverlink's site with real time information disappeared (naturally enough) last night. I can find nothing on the TFL site. (After all the trumpeting about improvements that is not a good start.) -- Robin

OT- Giraffes sculpture in Harlesden, London by John Rowland
The "Giraffes" sculpture at the junction of Scrubs Lane and Harrow Road seems to be gone or hidden behind hoardings. Does anyone know its fate?

London day trip - which travel card? by A.Lee
Myself and a friend will be in London for a day in a few weeks time, and would like some advice on if, and which, travelcard we should buy. We expect to make 3 or 4 Tube journeys in the central area. Is it worthwhile getting a one day card, or just pay for individual journeys? Also, can they be bought in advance for a particular day? Thanks Alan.

Newbie Oyster Question by CNS
Spent a day visiting London last week, so decided to try using the Oyster Card. I sent a topup of £5 to be credited when getting the Tube at Waterloo. The day's journeys are now showing on the website & I notice that there are a number of £4 charges when entering Waterloo, Arsenal & Baker ST tubes. Can anyone let me know why? may it have been down to me not touching in & out correctly?...

A10 crossroads with Carterhatch Lane by John Rowland
The traffic lights here have three (traffic) phases: 1) turn right from the main road 2) forward or left from the main road 3) forward, left or right from the minor road ....in that order. Every other junction which I know has these three phases has them in the opposite order. Does anyone know why this junction is different?

Crossrail is already here! by Clive D. W. Feather
I've just received an email telling me: The RAIB is carrying out an investigation into an incident when a road rail engineering machine ran away from Brentford to Romford on 4 November 2007. Obviously it must have taken Crossrail, since going round the NLL would involve climbing uphill. --

Staff passes on the Overground by Offramp
The intranet says that all staff passes in their various forms will be valid all over the overground after 11/11/2007. That seems a bit sudden - I mean there was no warning about it. It's good news, but I would like confirmation.

Rail deserts by Tom Anderson
Evening all, It frequently strikes me, when considering the geography of the terra incognita called 'South London', that there is an amazingly large region with no railway stations in the Walworth area. If you draw a line through Elephant & Castle, Kennington, Oval, Stockwell, Brixton, Loughborough Junction, Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, Queen's Road Peckham, South Bermondsey, Bermondsey,...

Steel coppers by Offramp
I carry a magnet with me. I noticed yesterday that new 1p and 2p pieces stuck to the magnet like poo-poo to a blanket. A friend of mine whose name is Mr Wonderful told me that coppers have been made of steel since 1986! I told him that he was full of the stuff that sticks to blankets the same way that pennies stick to magnets. Who is right?
