Secret Tube Trains under London? by
Brian Watson
A contributor to The Robert Elms Show on BBC Radio London has just claimed
there are secret underground train lines between Buckingham Palace and
various other London sites.
Nifty conspiracy theory, or fact?

Oyster Helpline Cost by
MIG
Does TfL make any money from calls to 08453309876?
Is there any means of claiming back the cost of calls in any case,
when this is the only way of resolving problems caused by TfL and
Oyster?
Why is there not a free number, given the punitive extractions of
money faced by TfL "customers" and the limited means of redress?

Underground delay vouchers by
Toby
I received some vouchers from LU recently after 2 tube delays. The reverse
of the vouchers state they can also be used at Natioanl Rail stations in the
south east where part of the journey includes the underground.
However, I went to a major London terminal earlier (Euston), and the booking
clerk refused to accept the vouchers despite my ticket including
cross-London transfer. He didn't...

Old DLR viaduct track by
Boltar
If you look at the old DLR viaduct at island gardens in google earth
it looks like the track could still be in situ though it may be an
optical illusion with the leftover base. I can't imagine them leaving
track behind since its always worth something but perhaps it was too
awkward to take it up on that narrow viaduct?

This appeared today in rec.humor.funny and for reasons inexplicable a

Fasttrack ticket collection by
Tristán White
Can anyone tell me why Waterloo, one of the city's major stations, does not
have the ability to print out a pre-paid Fasttrack ticket?
I am going to Bournemouth on Monday from Waterloo, but am going to have to
go to Kings Cross first to pick up my ticket as there's no fasttrack
machine in Waterloo.
Can someone tell me what is particularly fast about that?
There isn't one in London Bridge...

St Pancras 'Midland Road' by
Paul Scott
The new underground station at St Pancras for Thameslink services is usually
referred to as 'Midland Road' in the various documentation available on the
web.
However - does it actually need a separate name when it comes into use? As I
see it from the station plans its going to be accessed from the same
'entrance cross passage' as the MML and Kent platforms, so why can't it just
use the next two...

Asfordby to be used to test air conditioned tube trains by
Goalie of the Century
There's a BBC report at
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/leicestershire/6466501.stm
that the test track at Asfordby will be used to test the next generation
of tube trains which will be fitted with air conditioning.
Surely using energy to pump heat out of the trains into the tunnels will
just increase the temperature there. Has a solution to the problem of
cooling the system as a...
