[OT] The 21 Steps by Tom Anderson
Afternoon all, Some kind of Google Maps / short fiction mashup from Penguin: http://wetellstories.co.uk/stories/week1/ It starts in the new St Pancras, so it's very vaguely on topic. I haven't read the whole story yet, so can't comment on whether it's any good! tom

Jamspy - traffic jams plotted on a map.. by MrTraffic
Hopefully of interest to some on here.... I've just launched http://www.Jamspy.co.uk - which is a website that takes traffic information and displays it on a map of the UK. I'm also measuring and plotting traffic trends and doing some analysis to allow me to try and predict traffic patterns across the week.

Piccadilly line this morning by James Farrar
Anyone know what caused the westbound Piccadilly line to be so bad this morning? It took me nearly an hour and a half from Turnpike Lane to Northfields starting just before 10am. I know part of the delay was caused by a passenger alarm that caused the train to stop about half a car short of the normal stopping point, and that took more than 5 minutes to be resolved, but even after that it was...

If you could ask Boris,Ken, Brian and Sian a question what would itbe? by Mwmbwls
Mae West once said about publicity - "I don't care what the papers say about me as long as they spell my name right". I am encouraged that the candidates for London's Mayor are taking Transport as a serious election issue. As this group has an expert appreciation of the issues - what question would you like to pose to all mayoral candidates? Some of today's cuttings to stimulate your...

LEDs on the front of Picc trains. by crispin.proctor@gmail.com
Hi Folks, I've noticed on the front right window (if you are in the cab) there it a "thing" pointing forward with a lot of clear LEDs in it. It's located slightly below where the windscreen wiper motor is. I have asked a couple drivers and they either won't tell me or claim they don't know. They are all clear LEDs. Could it be some IR LEDs / sensors?

TV location: Hickory Fields Underground with preserved 38 stock ? by Nick Leverton
Just watched the Poirot TV episode "Hickory Dickory Dock", http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0182225/ London Underground interest included the 1938 stock in pre-war red and cream livery, running in and out of a station named "Hickory Fields". Where was the station though ? I wasn't watching closely enough to see :) Tiled walls, but not a Tube - it had a footbridge, and I think was open air or in a...
