With a phenomenal amount of massive residential towers recently built
near it, this could have been a serious candidate for reopening, apart
from the fact that the station was closed when the rest of the line was
enlarged to take standard tube stock, so the platforms that would fit
now would presumably be even narrower than they were when the smaller
trains called there. They would also be too short and so have to be
lengthened, hence the station would effectively have to be rebuilt from
scratch. I think it's the only abandoned tube station that really cannot
be reopened.
