Interesting experience on the Bakelooo Line at the weekend. The
carriage had about 20 people in it, mainly scattered around. At Oxford Circus two women (sans male escorts) entered one end of the carriage and sat down. They were dressed all in black - like they do in Iraq / Iran. They had the real slitty-eyed look. Well quite a few people looked at them and then at each other and suddenly decided that they really did not want to be sitting near them, and they moved towards the other end of the carriage near where I was. Not that that would have saved them in an emergency. One of two muttered "well you never know do you?" I got off at Charing Cross, but noticed that by then the two women had their end of the carriage all to themselves. What would you have done? SB. |

The "Birmingham speech" is an interesting piece of oration, one that should be read carefully and the various opinions picked apart and considered. My fav line is a the quote from one of his constituents that is supposed to have inspired the speech: "If I had the money to go, I wouldn't stay in this country". AE |

Its a shame he didnt live to see his prophesy come true. Which is the quote that is always trotted out along with the 'Enoch was right' line - of course the last 40 years have proved him completely wrong - Im sitting here in an outer suburb of a fine northern city, many of my neghbours have different pigmentation to me, yet the streets are not rivers running with blood, but usually running with children playing football and neighbours bringing in each others wheely bins. They are nice likeable children, and good decent neighbours. And of course for almost all of us that is the experience of immigration, that different skin colours dont automatically lead to conflict ( and again showing that Enoch was wrong) and that is why the right wing racists have changed their strategy and started saying that islam is the issue not race. Its pretty clear the two women in the original post have more to fear from the mindset of the OP than he has to fear from them. |

Indeed, the alien threat to the values of our society is that of the Nazi BNP and EDL (and the waiverers in UKIP). |

This remark was superfluous. Just make sure you can manage to find Khrisong. Oh, yes, and the missing episodes. Yes. Its a shame he didnt live to see his prophesy come true. He took his meals and passed his time at the end of the hill. |

I don't think there would have been a general movement of people to the other end of the carriage. I doubt most people would have registered anything odd with a couple of 'slitty-eyed' passengers. -- David |
