NR Tickets on LU

Against a background of marching inexorably towards doing away with
ticket offices altogether, and of having stopped selling most of them
a few years ago, LU seems to be advertising that it's about to start
selling a wider range of NR products.

I am all for integration, but it wasn't something I was expecting.

Allegedly the machines at Marylebone (LU) were upgraded to sell a
"larger" range of NR tickets, including Railcard discounted ones, as of
the 14th.

Whilst the options are certainly there, they don't appear to have any
fares attached to them yet!

Cheers,

Barry

I guess they are hoping the comission on the sales will be a boost to
the coffers.

You can actually buy tickets to most destinations in the network area
already. Such as Oxford, Reading, Slough etc. Day returns only come
as one ticket and the print is so small its very difficult to read.

So can some expert explain why NR issue day returns as two tickets ?

So that the ticket machine at the destination grabs the outbound half,
which then can't be re-used in a passback or other fraud?

Would National Rail priv's be in that category?

Nope. PRIV tickets have to be bought from a Ticket Office, same as on NR.
