What on earth is this latest strike about? For once, the whole line is
suspended, and a total of four days travel will be disrupted. It's
supposedly not about pay, or the usual claims of victimisation of union
activists.

I'm trying to work out why an American fighter pilot is stationed at Kings
Cross!

Maybe Homer Simpson could tell you !

At a guess, he either works in some sort of USAF liaison office there, or,
more likely, the father was catching a main line train to the airbase where
his son is actually based. Or maybe that was just where he was meeting his
son?

Big American airbase in Mildenhall; by rail Ely and taxi would probably be
the best way, so King's X would be the logical station.

The fighter pilots are at Lakenheath. Although not necessarily living
on-base.
