Default Better to buy Family Travelcard (even if no kids with you)

Niklas Karlsson:
Well, the escalators do say "Dogs and children under 5 must be carried".
Lots of people seem not to bother to carry either, though!

J.M.:
I agree. This is very annoying. Why should I have to take a couple of dogs
and someone's horrid toddler with me just so as I can use the escalator?

Two dogs and *one* horrid toddler won't do anyway. It says *children*.
Then again, perhaps J.M. already has one of his or her own.
