(This is probably for broadband users only)

Zoom right in and then click on the arrows to scroll at high speed, or just
drag the image with the mouse ... How cool is that!

At the highest level, the detail of service roads is astonishing. Just north
of Harrow On The Hill station it seems to show the roads inside the
multi-storey car parks.

It's interesting, as it shows some of the private rounds round near
where my parents live, but not all of them!

Jetlagged fingers - I meant to type "private roads". Plus it gives
really roundabout directions to get from here to there.... but I love
the US version, especially the satellite maps!

Could the signs be wrong? Have you checked the appropriate Order?

Could it be this one?

http://www.legislation.hmso.gov.uk/s...0/20001230.htm

This was back in 2000, which coincided with IIRC Westway and the
Blackwall Tunnel approach (ex-A102(M)) being transferred to the GLA.

As for The Highway, not sure, though last week's footage of the
Marathon confirms it is at least a Red Route.

Quite amazing how fast it works. Thanks for the link. But try to zoom
out to the max. Is this the world today as Americans see it? ;-)

If you think that's bad, try http://www.multimap.com/ and zoom out to
the max!

No, it's the world today as Blair sees it.

It's a shame that outside central London the maps don't show things like
railway stations and car parks.

I'd hardly call Croydon "central London" but it shows the stations
there.

Unfortunately it gets some things very badly wrong. For instance,
Tramlink is missing but the bit from Reeves Corner to Wimbledon is
shown devoid of stations but as a normal railway line like it used to
be.

And it puts Streatham Hill station rather a long way from any railway
line and even further from where it's meant to be!

Still pretty damned impressive though.
