(Lots snipped) So today the FCC Sutton train was cancelled at 1721. The 1736 via Wimbledon duly arrived late with only 4 coaches. Madness ensued. I got on. It was claustrophobic and dangerous. The train from Farringdon was dangerously overcrowded. The people at intervening stations were unable to board. The guard announced "move into the cars to let people board" when the trains were absolutely full. I will write to FCC but Im not hopeful. FCC replied to me today with a letter of apology, an assurance that overcrowding is a 'pressing' matter (their words), and a voucher for £6 for the refund of the single journey. One hopes it is actually taken into consideration in the planning for the expansion of Thameslink. Personally I would like the fast trains to Guildford back but I dont suppose thats likely. mf |

It has been - its the whole point of the project, FCC are getting the remaining class 319s during the course of next year, and the 24 tph 12 car trains has been the planned outcome for years... Personally I would like the fast trains to Guildford back but I dont suppose thats likely. Why not? - Guildford is still on the latest maps for Thameslink... Paul |
