Default PT to/from Heathrow

In the thread "[London] transport related sights" the disscusion was
that the tube runs only to Terminals 1 to 3 at Heathrow and not to
Terminal 4 due to extension work.

This means that the only railbound PT serving T4 is "Heathrow express" ?
T1 to 3 are serviced by Tube and H-Ex?

As I will fly to London on wednesday (from Vienna), I'd like to know my
options! :-)

What's the difference in price, the ticket costs for H-EX seem to be
quite expensive. Don't they?

thanks & regards
Tadej

Yep.

Hex is more expensive.
However, if you are arriving at T4, you can travel on Hex to T1-3 for
free, and chance to the Tube there, or their is substiute bus service
from T4 to Hatton Cross to pick up the Tube from there.

You can, at the moment, travel free on the HX from T123 to T4. So, if you
want to save money, take the tube to T123 and then the HX.

Sorry, I haven't got time to look up the actual fares for you, but you can
find them out here http://www.heathrowexpress.com/ and here
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/fares-tick...05/index.shtml

you always, could.

And I suspect that you always will be able to. Checking tickets
for short hop pax on this section is unlikely to be cost-effective

Genuinely didn't realise that - I thought it was only in place while T4 was
inaccessible by tube.

I believe BAA insist that all transport within the airport is free. I think
buses between Heathrow Central and the North area are also free.

Yup. Last time I flew from Heathrow I got an ordinary bus from my hotel
just outside the perimeter to the terminal - free. That was in 2003, but
it wasn't the case in 2000, which was the previous time I did the same.

I thought with the start of the Heathrow Express service transfers between
T4 and T123 were no longer free on the tube.

I sincerely hope not - at least not to us London taxis taking passengers
from T4 to T123 and reverse. :-)

Obviously, Iwas not referring to taxis.
