Can someone tell me if you can touch in/out with PAYG on the pink
route validators on the Overground platforms (there is both a sign
above them for touching in/out) or do you have to touch in on the
central line and then go over and touch the route validator if you
want to use the overground?
Also if you are using the Overground between Stratford and H&I do you
have to touch the route validators at both ends.
In order to answer the question properly it would be helpful if you
could say what your start and end points of your journey(s) is / are and
what ticket product(s) you are using. * This is to assess whether you
need to set an alternative route for pricing purposes or not - that will
set the answer as to whether to "Pink" or not.
I was guessing that Beth was thinking about STARTING a PAYG journey
with a pink, perhaps changing from NXEA.
Even if I guessed wrong, that's an interesting question anyway. *One
would hope so.
I did two journeys on Friday. I went from Tottenham Hale to Stratford
using PAYG and then caught a train to Colchester. Previously I have
always had to touch out on the Central line platform as there is not
anywhere to touch out on platform 12,11,10A,10 or 9. Today though I
thought I would walk over to the overground platforms as they are next
to platform 12. All the Oyster circular pads on the Overground
platforms have the pink circles on them but there are two signs above
them on tell you about route validation in pink and the usual one in
yellow telling you to touch in an out. I decided to chicken out and
just use the yellow Oyster pads on the Central line platform.
On the return trip I needed to use the Overground, so I touched in on
the central line and then on the validator on the overground platform.
hope that makes sense. sorry if reply too long
