The Richmond Stratford Overground looks as though it ought to
continue towards Woolwich. Actually it id a few years ago. But what's
happened to the route since?
The North London Line ran through to North Woolwich until December
'06. The alignment between Canning Town and Stratford has been taken
over by the DLR - iit'll have three new stations in addition to a new
terminus station at Stratford International, next to the new
highspeed / Eurostar station. This is due to open later this year.

The logic of cutting back the NLL to Stratford and replacing it with
a
DLR extension is lost on me. It would have been better IMHO to have
just converted the Silvertown stretch to Light Rail and extended the
NLL under the Thames close to Angerstein Wharf for onward connection
to the SLL.
Also what has happened to all the exhibits that used to be at that
rather nice railway museum based in Woolwich Station?
No idea.
Pity, because the museum would have added a nice touch to the
Docklands
development.
