I was at Whitechapel, today. It was my first visit for about a month.
The outer platforms - 1 eastbound and 4 westbound are hidden by hoarding
for Crossrail work.
Ihe inner platforms - 2 eastbound and 3 westbound - each have 25m "box
junctions" at the bottom of the stairways.
2 & 3 are the only platforms at that level from now on, aren't they?
It will remain a 2 platform station after the Crossrail alterations, but
it will be a single wide island platform after redevelopment, with the
stairs and escalators where the centre tracks are. At some stage of the
build progress the through lines will move to the new outer faces, and
the hoardings will be switched to include the central area.

What's the schedule on that?
