Train is also a better environment to read/use a laptop/whatever in -

Not on a rush hour commuter train - which is the only place that trains
make sense.

Some say that they also make sense as a substitute for domestic flights
(from say Edinburgh to London).

The last time I travelled from London to Edinburgh and back, the flight cost
about 1/4 of the train fare.

Meanwhile in the real world, I just checked the fares London-Edinburgh
for Wednesday 18 March.

A mid-morning Easyjet departure is GBP108 and train departure is
GBP57. For Thursday, Easyjet is the same price as the train.

For June 2 (random midweek some months ahead), the cheapest morning
Easyjet is GBP26; cheapest morning train is GBP18.55.

And you're full of ****.
