I've just had a look, using Google Maps satellite view, at the route for
the new part between Surrey Quays and where it will join the line to
Queens Road Peckham. It appears to will go through a park called
Bridgehouse Meadows - surely the folk there are not happy?

That park seems to have evolved over time by adopting the land left idle by the disused railway. The last time I was there, a few years ago, long before the current work started, the western part had been turned into a small shanty town with a few dossers living there in improvised accommodation. I doubt very much if local peope objected to the removal of the shanty town.

At that time I suspected that TfL had plans for the area because they had installed a 20' container in the middle of the park. It was quite obviously a marker and I assumed it was there to prevent anyone claiming that because the area had been abandoned for twenty years, it was now common land and could not be built on.
