Ugh, no; at peak times the A14 between the M11 and A1 can be very nasty
indeed. Outside of peak times, though, it can be an excellent route.

If he's battling the M25 at 8am, it's not going to be "peak" when he hits
the A14 - unless, of course, he's taken the opportunity to stop off in
Cambridge.
