There was, of course, a pre-war plan to have just such an express line
paralleling the Northern Line. And hence the bunker (in the vacant
station tunnels) at Goodge St.


Indeed, and they were main line structure gauge tunnels. I still
think this would be a good route for a future Crossrail, say GE
suburbs to KX/St P Underground, and on to Euston Underground.

Then limited stop parallel of the Northern Line to South Wimbledon,
over to Raines Park and end on the routes thru Motspur Park.
