Strange. There are different sorts of taxi licences at least.
No. London has 10 different taxi driver licences available for new taxi
drivers giving entitlement to work in different areas because they have
done different knowledges, but there is only one type of London taxi
license available for taxi vehicles, and it is the latter which is
registered as exempt from the CC.
Correction: 2 or 3 of these areas are not accepting new drivers,
allegedly due to oversupply of drivers. As a further clarification of
the above, the same taxi might be used by a Central London driver one
day and by a suburban driver the next, but the CC people are not
informed about the driver because it is the vehicle which is exempt.
