I agree that it is a daft idea to rename stations and lines - it will confuse Londoners and tourists alike. A station name has to give some indication of the area that it is in, so that there is only a limited scope for renaming in any case.

Mind you Boris has said that Crossrail should be called the "Queen Elizabeth Line" today.
