Great sight seeing the train pull into Uxbridge Station - albeit late -

filling the entire station with smoke and steam!!! But they didn't
wait long before returning to Harrow. Met Locomotive No 1 was the
star. But behind it was Sarah Siddons. And the station staff were very
obliging in allowing free access to the platforms. Not that there were
lot of folk there on what was a nice sunny Sunday afternoon. The ex-BR
Mark 1 carriages were a bit naff though with the vinyl Met.
timber-look-alike transfers. Metropolitan Railway ‘Jubilee’ carriage
No. 353 looked immaculate though. CJB.

Thank you for sharing. One wishes one could have been there. It
sounds like a very atmospheric occasion. :-)

Are the BR Mk1s, the 4TC set?

Met No 1 was not there. It was GWR prarie no 5521 masquerading as a
fictitious L150

It would still have been good to see steam at Uxbridge. AFIK neither
the Met. nor LT ever utilizer prairie tanks. A pannier tank would
have been a better substitute.
