Once again the 521 was better than usual! On the way back I got a
random Optare Versa from Ensign (I think the best bus we've made here
for a long time. Not a Citaro and two fewer doors than necessary, but
still...).

That link clams that 2/3 surveyed agree that there should be the same
wage across the 18 operators. I think I agree, but it seems to me
that the skills required on a central route full of cyclists like the
northern section of the 63 from King's Cross to past Elephant are
greater than, let's say from near me, the 71, a simple wander around
Kingston borough. I don't think the skills are missing at all, but
most jobs pay the least possible the market will allow for what is
required, and not so much what could be.

Did LT pay different rates? Perhaps historically for central and
country areas.
