Oh yes they have. New Tube Map, Overground, TfL Rail and Tube and Rail

There seem to be an awful lot of compromises (or bodges). For example
West Hampsted is shown as having a direct interchange between tube and
overground, whereas in fact you have to climb a long staircase, walk
along the road some way, cross the road, and then down another stairway,
passing two ticket barriers on the way.

You're right, someone looking at that map would never guess that the nearby
Finchley Road connection is actually much, much easier (ie, cross-platform)
than the cumbersome West Hampstead connection that you accurately describe.

I really don't understand the way that connections are depicted: it seems
totally unrelated to what passengers have to do in practice.

Maybe they need a symbol on the interchange that's the opposite to a
Wheelchair -- perhaps a stairs icon?

And TfL now have two stations called Bethnal Green with no connection
shown. Perhaps it didn't cause confusion when one was a "tube" station
and one a "railway" station, but now both are part of the tube map that
may not still apply.

It can join the two Edgware Roads...
