Anyone know why? And how come Overground think the route is so

that they can just shut it for 2 days during the working week and to hell

the travelling public?

TfL tell you why. Look it up yourself.

So point to the bit where they explain why it has to be done during the week
and why the entire ELL needs to be shut since presumably they could - if they
could be arsed which is a big ask for TfL - run a Highbury to shorditch
service and reverse. Ditto from the south to shadwell.

They are running a service from the south to Shadwell!

Thats not what I heard on the radio this morning. But I'll take your word
for it.

Presumably the problem with running a northern shuttle is that the depot
is south of the work site and/or they can't reverse enough trains to
handle the passenger load (have you seen the crush at Highbury some of
the time?)

2 trains at highbury, 2 at dalston junction would surely do the job. And if
it wasn't going as far as canada water the number of pax would be much
reduced.
