I like some of the bistro math in there - talk of people who earn less
than £200/month having to work almost two hours a day to pay for a daily
commute.

If these people were working daily, at minimum wage, assuming 4 working
weeks of 5 days per month they would be working less than the hour fifty
six minutes per day so clearly can't be commuting it (or are losing
money on a daily basis).

In any case, assuming minimum wage, what return journeys are these
people making that cost £12?
