As I recall, the 96 stock, which, despite the name, is older than the 95
stock, was delivered with GTO traction packages while the 95 stock uses the
later and now standard IGBT system.

This makes me wonder whether the extra 96 stock trains included obsolete GTO
traction packages or whether they have been updated?
