2016 is of course a leap year, I recall my (late) mother who was paid
on a monthly basis also being paid for an extra day in February each
leap year in one company she worked for.

Nope the same each month i.e. yearly salary divided by 12 but as in a
leap year there are 366 days rather than 365 she got an extra days
pay then

So I was diddled for every leap year after 1976!
