That is rather an edge case.
There are others, such as when big told by a signaller to proceed at caution.
In that kind of case an automated train could be driven manually at low
speed by the guard, like it is on the DLR.
But overall, a train doing 200mph under the control of a fully tested
safety-critical computer is safer than one with a person there doing
what the computer tells them.
