They couldn't really have different colours for the numerous Overground
lines, because they've pretty much run out of easily distinguishable
colours. Orange was only available because the old ELL used it. That
nonsense with having a narrow white strip in the middle doesn't really
cut it for distinguishing between, eg, two red lines, for someone who is
in a hurry and not intimately acquainted with the network.
