a long way from the immediate vicinity of the terminal; and the Hotel
is effectively on the A30 (in the middle of a roundabout on...)

iirc the walkway connects near the far righthand end (looking at the
BA desks) of the departures area.

Yes, the walkway is at the east end of the terminal on the departures
level, tear the HEx lift and the First check-in desks. The hotel is
north of the A30, but close to it.
