Can somebody please tell me what is the function of the new or newly

painted
steel girder which is at an angle beneath the ramp leading from York Way

to
the taxi rank at Kings Cross. I have tried to mark the position on the
picture.

ITYF that that is the old access to the Widened Lines tunnel, York Way
platform formerly being to the left of the tunnel entrance. I suspect that
the girder is probably just there to stabilise the area. It wouldn't be

part
of the plans to add platform 0 where the cab road currently is, as it

would
require too sharp a curve into the trainshed. Presumably the offices

behind
the class 67 will be coming down to give access to the cab road, when the
new platform goes in.

It's where the line to the new strategic reserve is going in ;o)
