Default London Free Rides

JFK, Airtrain, PATH, LGA, and EWR are all run by PANYNJ. They give the
impression of not giving a flying First-logo about the MTA or the rest
of the outside world.

The new PATH temporary station at World Trade Center does take
Metrocards, the pay-per-ride type only, not the unlimited ride type,
and the other stations on the system are due to be converted to do so
at some time in the future, but I don't think any date has been given.
PATH 11, 20 and 40 trip Quickcards are also accepted, and a 2 trip
one has been introduced.

There are many different transport systems in the area, including:

New york Subway (MTA)
New York buses (mainly MTA)
PATH (PANYNJ)
Hudson Bergen Light Rail (NJ Transit)
New Jersey buses (mainly NJ Transit)
Newark City Subway (NJ Transit)
Various rail lines in new Jersey, some extending into New York, (NJ
Transit)
Long Island Railroad and Metro North rail services in new York (MTA)
Staten Island Railway (MTA)
Newark and JFK Airtrain (PANYNJ)

Further away NJ Transit trains connect at Trenton with River Line (NJ
Transit) and Septa, and at Camden the southern end of the River Line
connects with PATCO.

Integration between these various systems is not as good as it could
be. A lot of money is being spent on transport iin this area at the
moment, and there are signs that integration may be improving slowly.
The fact that these services involve three states, numerous counties
and cities and many different operators doesn't help.

The heavy investment which is taking place is far from universally
popular; many people who travel only by car or by air object to the
spending of tax payers' mony on public transport systems which they do
not use, and many New Yorkers see anything crossing the Hudson as only
being of any benefit to New Jersey people, and therefore not
justifying investment. There are many posts in nyc.transit,
