No. There was a single-track tunnel from St.Pancras to meet the (now)
Thameslink tunnel.

Although a bit was

For "a bit" read "just about all".

Do you mean the York Road curve?


No, he means the tunnel that links *west* to *north*, branching off the
York Road curve about half way down.
