Does anyone know why the junk yard next

New Cross Gate has finally been cleared
and some trackside work is going on?
Is this related to East London Line extension?

I wouldn't have thought so, as, AFAIK, the
southern extension hasn't got funding as yet.

The extension to Peckham hasn't been funded, but the New Cross Gate link is
necessary for the Northern extension because otherwise the new depot at
Selhurst for all the extra trains would be unreachable.
