They already have - not entirely, but you get the odd one stabled at
Brixton Garage overnight, and I have seen a couple of non-RM-19s running
empty to Battersea Bridge from there.

But Battersea garage is an outstation of Brixton so you will see 19s at
Brixton. Also later at night some buses are OPO vehicles as they run
onto the N19 night bus service. I've not seen any reports at all of a
new OPO bus even delivered for the 19 never mind actually used on one. I
would expect things will start to happen within the next week or so if
they are going to do so before the conversion.
