Default Oyster capping - when does it kick in?

In message , at 13:06:51 on
Thu, 19 May 2005, asdf remarked:
If you have any "incomplete" journeys on your card (ones where it
thinks you've only touched a reader at one end) then those journeys
are charged at £1.70 but don't count towards the daily cap.

If your Oyster card is registered, then (regardless of the cause) you
can get the problem fixed by calling the Oyster helpline (number is on
the back of the card). However, since it's an 0845 number, the call
may cost you more than the 40p you stand to reclaim...

Oh well, as it'll be some before I'm back in London, and online checking
of my account doesn't seem to be implemented yet, and they won't take an
email instead of an 0845 call... I think it's stalemate. Isn't new
technology wonderful :-)
