It's the way it conditions people away from "red means stop". You stick
in your ticket and the gate says "Red - OK, proceed".


Erm, the colour sequence is:

a) Amber - Ready to read.

b) Red - Oyster rejected or not ready to read.

c) Green - Oyster read ok, no problems.
