IIRC the south side of the GE main line, west of Romford, is the site
designated for the Crossrail depot - Modern Railways had a feature a
few months ago.

North Pole would certainly seem a sensible location though, should
Crossrail ever get built. BBC London news was reporting yesterday that
the estimated cost of the Crossrail project has increased from £10bn
to £15bn.
